Ledger.com/Start® is the official support page to guide users through initializing their Ledger hardware wallet. Whether you own a Ledger Nano S, Nano S Plus, or Nano X, following the instructions ensures your wallet is genuine, secure, and ready to manage digital assets safely.
Plug your Ledger wallet into your computer using the USB cable provided. For Ledger Nano X, you may also connect via Bluetooth.
Ledger Live is the official companion application. Download it from Ledger.com/start for your operating system. Ledger Live allows you to manage your cryptocurrencies safely and track your portfolio.
If your device firmware is outdated or missing, Ledger.com/start guides you to install the latest official firmware. Firmware updates enhance security and add support for new features.
You can initialize a new wallet or restore an existing one. The device will generate a recovery phrase (24 words) as a backup in case the wallet is lost or damaged.
Write down the recovery phrase on the official recovery sheet. Store it offline in a secure location. Never store your recovery phrase digitally or share it with anyone.
Create a secure PIN to prevent unauthorized access to your Ledger device. The PIN will be required every time you connect the wallet.
